I saw two dogs tonight whose breed I had never come across before:
The sharplanina and the Polish lowland sheepdog. The sharplanina was very striking, it looked a bit like a cross between a malamute and Irish wolfhound at first glance.
I'm not really into purebred dogs but I do find it interesting when I come across a dog the likes of which I've never seen before. There are a few breeds that are really quite striking-- I came across my first Afghan hounds last year and was startled by their unusual appearance.
I consider myself pretty good with dog and cat breeds, barring the super rare ones. I wish I could say the same for horses and livestock!
